Andy began at Takeover Radio at the age of eleven where he presented a weekly sports programme Hello You Sports Fans, and then four years later – aged 15 – he was named ‘Best Newcomer to Professional Radio’ by the UK’s Radio Academy.
He has now worked as a presenter or reporter on major radio and television networks in the following countries or territories: Asia, Canada, France, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Whilst his specialism is football [soccer] he has also covered most popular sports at the top level for broadcasters such as BBC, BT Sport, ESPN, Fox Sports and TSN.
“I definitely get a buzz out of being ‘on air’ but I am also interested in production and the business of sport”.



Jamie Wilson – Saturday Breakfast Show Presenter! 2000 – 2007

Jamie joined Takeover Radio in 1999 and after his initial training began presenting the Saturday Breakfast Show with Anna Burgess. He then went to Bournemouth University to study media, on his graduation he successfully gained a position on Dick and Dom in da Bungalow’, as a runner. Since then Jamie has worked on lots of other CBBC shows, including The Slammer, TMi and Blue Peter, where he worked as Producer. Now based at MediaCityUK in Salford, Jamie is a Series Producer for CBBC.

Lois Davies – Wednesday evening Presenter! 2000 – 2007

Lois joined Takeover Radio for the 9 day broadcast in 2000 and presented a Wednesday evening show with fellow presenter Bobby Hawkins called Pick and Mix. Lois in now working for connexions as a Personal Adviser.


Dan Flanders – Friday Triple D Show Presenter! 2006 – 2009

Dan presented the Triple R show on a Friday evening with Niki Patel and Guy French which was a rock and alternative music show. Dan then went on to study a BA (Top Up) Editing and Post Production at Ravensbourne university and is now a Freelance Videographer at danflanders.co.uk


Niki Patel – Friday Triple T Show Presenter! 2003 – 2006

Tom Ross – Saturday Mid Morning Show! 2003 – 2006
Multimedia Producer – Global Media
Tom joined Takeover Radio in 2003 and presented the Tom Ross Show on Saturday mornings, when he left in 2006 he went to Nottingham University to study media and was successful on his graduation to secure an internship with Sky media in Australia were he lived for 12 months. On his return he started working for Global Media as a Multimedia Producer on Capital and Heart in the Southampton area.


Will Kisby – Sunday Afternoon Show! 2003 – 2006

Following his time with Takeover Radio, Will studied Radio at the University of Westminster, where alongside his studies he worked as an Assistant Producer at LBC.
After graduating with a first, Will then freelanced at both LBC and a number of independent production companies, making documentaries for BBC Radio 1, 2 and 5Live.
Will also worked as an Assistant Producer on BBC Radio 5lives’ series, Men’s Hour, as well as working on the audio side of things for the Olympic Broadcast Services at London 2012, covering International Football at Wembley.
Since 2013, Will has been working for Global Radio as a Producer for Classic FM.


Daniel Leung – Morning Rewind Show! 2005 – 2012

Dan and co presenter Laurie were a popular start to Saturday mornings for over 3 years on Takeover Radio, but when Dan reached 18 he left to complete a Christian Theology and Media & Communication degree within which he achieved a First Class Honours. Whilst there he became involved with the student radio station Hope Radio, after a re launch and re name to THIS Radio Dan was offered the position of Graduate Assistant to Co-ordinate of the student radio station, managing the operational aspects of the station including content and production management, technical support and organisation of volunteers. Acting as a editor, advising students on approaches to treatment of stories.


Meera Pattni – Sunny Side Up 2004 – 2007

Meera started working at Takeover when she was 13 and left at 18. She presented and produce
‘Sunny Side Up’ – a Saturday morning breakfast show. Meera attended The University of Sheffield
where she attained a 2.1 in English Literature, English Literature (British and Commonwealth). after leaving university she went to work for the BBC and produced the daytime output for 5 Live. After leaving the BBC to complete a broadcast journalist course at City University London, Meera joined Global Media as a producer on LBC. following a short stay at Amnesty International she join Vice Media at their UK Communications Manager.


Sophie Cook – Opinon8 2008 – 2011

January 2008 – September 2011 (3 years 9 months)Leicester, United KingdomSophie started with Takeover Radio in January 2008 and went on to co host a Sunday morning show, then went on to produce and present ‘Opinion 8’ a weekly chat show aimed at the young people of Leicester. Looking at issues affecting teenagers such as teen pregnancy, drug abuse, HPV jab, and making choices on the next steps. After completing her course at Westminster University to became a digital and social media assistant intern at Festival Republic in London, she worked on the content for the mobile apps for Latitude, Reading and Leeds and Electric Picnic. Assisting with content for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, both prior/and onsite. Managing the ‘Text to Screen’ moderation, onsite at Latitude, Reading and Leeds. Creating copy and images for official website. Also assisting with general duties in the digital marketing team.
In June 2013 Sophie worked alongside the events officer for UK Student Radio Association to organise the annual Student Radio Awards which take place at the Indigo o2 in November, and the National Conference which takes place in April. Working with a tight budget to organise caterers, props, production that go into the awards.
In December 2012 she started working as a BA on a range of shows for Radio leicester and is now Mid-Morning Producer.


Daniel Hill

Danny started with Takeover Radio a soon at he was old enough, he came to he station for weeks before his 8th birthday when he has eligible to join. After his training he presented a series of programmes and took part in many activities including going down to the Radio Authority in London to deliver our bid for a London AM licence, we were not successful unfortunately.
Since leaving Takeover Danny has found a partner and now has children, a big change from when he was the face of our advertising campaign.
